Thirty Seconds to Mars (also commonly stylized as 30 Seconds to Mars) is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1998.

The band's debut album, 30 Seconds to Mars (2002), was produced by Bob Ezrin and released to critical acclaim but only to limited success.
The band achieved worldwide fame with the release of their second album A Beautiful Lie (2005), which received multiple certifications all over the world, including platinum in the United States.
Their next release, This Is War (2009), reached the top ten of several national album charts and earned numerous music awards. In 2013, Thirty Seconds to Mars left EMI forUniversal Music, and released the fourth album, Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams (2013), to critical and commercial success.
As of May 2013, the band has sold over 10 million albums worldwide.
The first time I heard 30STM was "The Kill" in 2006, I saw the video clip on a music channel, and oh my, it reminds me the scary movie "Shining", I told myself alright, it's not the movie you were afraid when you were kid this is just a video clip. So I watched again and I really love the song actually, the lyrics are so stunning "Look in my eyesYou're killing me, killing me All I wanted was you" ... Then "From Yesterday", so good ... the video clip is amazing... I'm not a huge fan of hard rock songs, but well 30 STM, I love the sounds, it reminds Linkin Park, so why not... and since, totally fan of this band.

Whereas the eponymous concept album's lyrics focus on human struggle and self-determination, A Beautiful Lie's lyrics are more personal and the music introduces intense screaming vocals. The album mixes experimental instrumentation with elements both symphonic and electronic, and the music introduces a minimalist approach full of ethereal sonics. The record carries the concept album format of This Is War and expands the spectrum to revolve around the themes after which it is named. "
Thirty Seconds to Mars has consistently enjoyed sold out tours and numerous headlining festival slots. The band is noted for its energetic live performances and its fusion of many music genres.
They have been compared to the sounds of artists such as Pink Floyd, The Cure, Tool, and U2, because of their philosophical and spiritual lyrics, concept albums and their use of experimental music.
My first gig was in 2011 at The zenith Paris, it was sold out as usual on their second date. As expected, it was so insane. Jared Leto, my god his voice so pure, he is so handsome... I went with my sister and my cousin, we know very well the lyrics and also the crowd so on each songs it was pretty impressive.
They threw in the crowd balloons, buoys,... so insane, and so funny, we were on the side, so we were good...
At the middle of the gig, Jared Leto went at the back of the crowd with his guitar for an acoustic version...
So Awesome. At the end, he picked some people in the crowd, to come on stage... so nice...
It was my first rock gig, it was really different from example hip hop gig, the crowd not the same... craziest.
What can I say about the video clip, so spectacular, always want to tell us a story... I was so lucky to see them twice, and I think I'll go again, there are so awesome in live.
The sounds of 30 STM, is very particular, they make me rediscover the rock... yet, I love their music, they are very popular in France, so I can see them more and more in a gig...
On February, 17t, 2014 I was invited to go to TV shows in France called " Le Grand Journal " and as guest, there was Jared Leto, so happy to go there, it wasn't my first time on a TV shows but for this channel yes and it was quite funny. Yeah folks, just behind him its me with my curly hair and my awkward smile.
Can I say that I took a photo with Jared Leto ?!?
When I came back home at night after the TV shows, I don't know why but I decided to check my spam on my inbox, and guess what !! I got an mail from NRJ radio which said that I was invited to 30 STM's gig on their second date in Paris on 18th February 2014. I was so excited that I jumped and yelled... Luckily, I checked my spam ortherwise I will never see this mail. So the next day I woke up early to get my ticket to NRJ Radio place in Paris and I get back home to be prepare for the night.
The theme of gig was " white night + colour war ", since the tickets was standing in front of the stage we went 1h30 before the gig, my friend and me, it was so cold.
The shows was F*... insane, the crowd was so crazy... the band came out all in white...
During, the shows, they threw big balloons, some confetti, one moment there was the war color between the band, they threw each other some color powder, so funny the face, you couldn't recognize them.
As usual, we got an acoutic moment with Jared Leto, it was so rock, we jumped, yelled, sang, ... so amazing.
What's else, oh yeah at the final song, some people came on stage with the band and a couple was on stage, and the man propose to her fiancée, so Jared Leto stopped singing, took the arms of the girls and brought them in the middle of the stage, you can watch it on the video, so amazing.
What I really like to 30 STM's gig, is that they are really communicative with the crowd, always talk to us in french or english, ask us what song they have to sing, make some joke on us, pick someone to come on stage, always make a comments on something, I really appreciate this effort from the band, to pay attention on us.
About the the music, well as usual 30 STM, perfect, he rocked it !!!
