Christopher Francis Ocean (born Christopher Breaux; October 28, 1987), better known by his stage name Frank Ocean, is an American singer-songwriter and rapper.

On February 18, 2011, Ocean released his first mixtape, Nostalgia, Ultra, to critical acclaim. The mixtape focuses on interpersonal relationships, personal reflection and social commentary.

Ocean released the cover art for his debut studio album's lead single, titled "Thinkin Bout You", revealing the song would be released to digital retailers on April, 2012.

Then, Ocean released his debut studio album Channel Orange to universal acclaim from critics, who later named it the best album of the year in the HMV's Poll of Polls. Considered as Ocean's first commercial release on a traditional record label, Channel Orange featured unconventional songs that were noted for their storytelling and social commentary, and a dense musical fusion that drew on hip hopsoul, and R&B. The songs about unrequited love in particular received the most attention, partly because of Ocean's announcement prior to the album's release.

Ocean's music has been characterized by music writers as idiosyncratic in style. Ocean generally plays the electronic keyboard, and is backed by a subdued rhythm section in the production. His compositions are often midtempo, feature unconventional melodies, and they occasionally have an experimental song structure.

Ocean's lyrics deal with themes of love, longing, misgiving, and nostalgia. His debut single "Novacane" juxtaposes the numbness and artificiality of a sexual relationship with that of mainstream radio, while "Voodoo" merges themes of spirituality and sexuality, and is an eccentric take on such subject matter common in R&B. Certain songs on channel ORANGE allude to Ocean's experience with unrequited loveOcean describes himself as "baritone, with tenor moments." Jody Rosen of Rolling Stone calls him a torch singer due to "his feel for romantic tragedy, unfurling in slow-boiling ballads". Ocean's stage presence during live shows is often low-key.

The first time, I heard Frank Ocean was on Jay Z and Kanye West album "Watch the Throne", and God his voice so bewitching, so sensual, that I have to listen to his songs. So I did it, and "Swim good", this song killed me, the beats with his voice, its just marvellous "I'm about to drive in the ocean imma try to swim from something bigger than me kick off my shoes and swim good". What about "Novacane", "Wiseman", his voice is so pure, "Thinking bout you", this song is so true, so unreal "You know you were my first time. A new feel, It won't ever get old, not in my soul, Not in my spirit, keep it alive", I can listen all day.

What I like about Frank Ocean, its this mixed between Hip Hop and R&B on the melody and his voice, so unique add some soul, so good to hear. So perfect, its such a pleasure to listen to his songs .... His last album killed me, "Lost" so catchy, "Pyramids" so swinging, "Bad religion" and "Pink matter" is such a lullaby, so rousing. so intense, there is more song that I like on the album, but those one are the most beautiful.

He was on tour in Europe on July 2013, and so sad to say that I coudn't go to his gig in Paris for some reasons.... For sure, next I'll go because I heard that in live he's wonderful....
