Mariah Carey (born March 27, 1970) is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, actress, and philanthropist.
Carey came to prominence after releasing her self-titled debut studio album Mariah Carey in 1990; it went multiplatinum and spawned four consecutive number one singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. She continued booking success with followup albums Emotions (1991), Music Box (1993), and Merry Christmas (1994). Daydream(1995) made music history when its second single "One Sweet Day", a duet with Boyz II Men, spent a record sixteen weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100, and remains the longest-running number-one song in U.S. chart history. During the recording of the album, Carey began to deviate from her R&B and pop beginnings and slowly traversed into hip hop. This musical change became evident with the release of Butterfly (1997).
Before the release of her first feature film Glitter (2001), she suffered a physical and emotional breakdown and was hospitalized for severe exhaustion. She signed a multimillion dollar contract deal with Island Records in 2002, and after an unsuccessful period, returned to the top of music charts withThe Emancipation of Mimi (2005). Its second single "We Belong Together" became her most successful single of the 2000s, and was later named "Song of the Decade" by Billboard.
In a career spanning over two decades, Carey has sold more than 200 million records worldwide, making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time. Referred to as the "songbird supreme" by the Guinness World Records, she is famed for her five-octave vocal range, power, melismatic style and signature use of the whistle register.

Mariah Carey, is a goddess for me. I literally grew up with her. Since her first album, I used to heard her songs in the house. Its so crazy that even when she changed her musical, it became more R&B, Hip Hop and Pop, well I changed also, so obviously, she was always present with me and I kept listening to her songs... I'm so a huge fan, I don't know how to describe it but its like she was always with me, her song always carry me all my life.
What I like about her, well first of all its her voice of course, my god its so unique and so powerfull !!! so nice to hear and the lyrics are so charming. Like I said before, I still love her first song and I grew up so my musical style changed a bit and Mariah too, I love her new musical, more beats, more catchy, and more dancing.

My family love Mariah Carey too, my parents used to listen to hear all the time when I was young, that's why I'm so into. I remembered that during my vacation to Las Vegas in 2009, she did a gig in a Palms hotel, but the ticket was so expensive, I was ready to pay but well it was the end of my vacation and no more money. So with my cousin and my friend, went to the hotel club, maybe she'll come, make an appearance, unfortunately she didn't. So funny, we finished the night at the very nice club, so drunk.
I don't care about what is she doing, her behaviour, if she is a diva or not, as long as she's still making song, I 'll be the happiest person.
I saw that she's going to release a new album in 2014, I can't wait...
I know that I won't be disppointed by her, so much years I listen her so...
